PADI Divemaster Course
The PADI Divemaster course is the first step towards a career in the diving industry and is a prerequisite for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, certifications. As a PADI Divemaster you will be able to: conduct first time diving programs, assist instructors, organize, supervise and lead dives as well as a plethora of other activities.
SSI Dive Guide, SSI Divemaster
The SSI Dive Guide program is using practical application and background information. The goal is to create well-prepared, versatile and marketable Dive Professionals. SSI Dive Guides can lead and guide certified divers. Additionally, after passing the Snorkeling Instructor program, a Dive Guide can teach and issue Snorkeling certifications. Dive Guide plus the Science of Diving program equals Divemaster. Divemasters can assist SSI Instructors with pool/confined water and open water training under the direct supervision of an SSI Instructor. This brings valued experience for all future diving carriers!
At Octopus Diving we offer a divemaster internship that is a minimum of three months, and is totally free. Your only costs will be for PADI materials, food and accommodation.
In exchange for the above courses, you will be required to work side by side with all of our instructors, however your direct tuition will be from Dive Center Manager Wayne, a PADI Staff Instructor and SSI Divemaster Instructor. Through the structured internship you will learn dive leadership through both independent study and classroom work. Waterskills and stamina exercises will strengthen your diving skill, and working with an instructor on courses and dives will help you problem solve and increase your diving abilities.
To participate in the Divemaster program, you will need to have completed your Rescue Diver certification. If you have not, then you can come one week earlier and finish your rescue diver with us. You will also need to have completed at least 60 dives by the end of the course. So you should start the Divemaster course with at least 40 dives.
